I have made
photographs
from my childhood onwards, printing my first images in a bedroom
clothes cupboard. Through the years I have had twelve exhibitions,
photographed fashion, the city streets, woodland, civil unrest, nudes
and landscapes. I also went down the education route and studied for City and Guilds photography qualifications. A move to Derbyshire has given me access to some of the most wonderful countryside England has to offer. I enjoy my walks around the Derbyshire countryside immensely and though I walk the same paths I find the changing seasons and the ever changing light a constant source of new images. The images I make now are a mixture of the purely personal and those that I think will attract people to my work. The first prints I ever made were Black and White and I have always loved the genre, only giving it up after becoming aware of the toxicity of the chemicals. The advent of the full frame digital camera has led to an image quality as good as film and it this that I exploit in these images. In addition to my solo projects on this web site I am also engaged in two others; With Tricia Durdey; intuitive images inspired by the landscape. http://www.dancelandscape.co.uk/ With poet Apple Selby; a poetry/photography project with the Lumsdale Valley Mills as an inspiration. http://appleselby.com/ |
